sopro HU-AT meets EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn!

Under the slogan „Overcoming boundaries together", in the whole of Europe the "1st European Cooperation Day" was celebrated on September 21, 2012

With only 2.5 % of the total budget of the European Regional Policy (8.7 of 347 bn euros), transnational interregional and cross-border projects have achieved important results since 2007, which improve quality of life and competitiveness in the regions.

The sopro HU-AT project – socially produced for the environment – with its sustainability strategy is an essential part thereof. Under the slogan "Value Creation through Appreciation", economic enterprises are linked with social enterprises and produce innovative quality products.

Gertrude Eigelsreiter-Jashari (on the left), scientific project leader of sopro, discussed with EU Commissioner for Regional Policy, Johannes Hahn, about the fertile effects of "socially produced" upon regional economic cycles and in which way a corresponding regional policy can further also cross-border Social Production. The EU Commissioner emphasized: "The European Territorial Cooperation will also play an important role in the new funding period. The projects initiated within the framework of these programs contribute to building confidence. They further mutual understanding, and thus are essential building stones of European integration".
